Refund Policy

If MyFinanceBook is not what you wanted, you have 14 days to say so and get your money back.
Who handles refunds
Paddle is the merchant of record for every MyFinanceBook purchase. Paddle owns the checkout, calculates the tax, issues the invoice and carries out the refund — and Paddle's name, not MyFinanceBook's, is what appears on your card or bank statement. If you do not recognise a charge, that is usually the explanation.
14 days to change your mind
Ask within 14 days of starting a subscription, or within 14 days of buying a booster pack, and you get a full refund. You do not have to give a reason.
Renewals after that are not part of the change-of-mind window. If a renewal catches you out and you have not used the allowance it bought, write to us anyway — we would rather refund it than leave you paying for a subscription you had forgotten about.
If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, this sits alongside your statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract; it does not replace or shorten it.
What a refund does
A refund undoes the purchase it refunds. When we refund a subscription the plan stops at once rather than running to the end of the period, and unused credits from a refunded booster pack are removed. Your ledger is never touched by any of this — the account simply returns to Free, and everything in it stays readable and exportable.
How to ask for one
- Through Paddle, at paddle.net. Enter the email address you bought with and Paddle will find the order.
- Or write to support@myfinancebook.app and we will take it up with Paddle for you.
Because Paddle holds the money and issues the refund, the request goes through Paddle's own review as well as ours. Within the 14 days we support it. The money goes back to the card or account it came from, and how long that takes after Paddle releases it is your bank's business rather than ours.
We may decline a refund, or stop selling to an account, where a pattern of purchases and refunds shows the service is being used without being paid for.
Booster packs
A booster pack is a one-off purchase and the same 14 days apply. Imports it has already been spent on cannot be handed back, so where a pack is refunded we may remove any of its credits still unused.
Cancelling instead
Cancelling is not the same as a refund: it stops the next payment. Your plan carries on to the end of the period you have already paid for, and the account then moves to Free. Nothing in your ledger is touched, and everything stays readable and exportable. Cancel from the billing portal, which opens from Settings.
The unused remainder of a period already paid for is not refunded automatically. If you are still inside the 14 days, ask.
If a payment fails
Paddle retries the card automatically. Your plan stays live for five days after a failed renewal; if no payment has succeeded by then the account moves to Free until one does. Settings shows the exact date while a payment is outstanding.
Nothing is deleted when that happens — the ledger, categories, reports and export work exactly as before. Updating your card in the billing portal restores the plan on its own; nothing has to be bought again.
